The Logo Is NOT Subtle, and That’s the Point!
What you will notice when you first look at it, is the lettering. Thick and black, with some edges just dripping with the paint and unfinished. Affects almost the entire length of the front of the chest. Note: No fine print in the corner. It is keen to be noticed. Snarly, below, way smaller of course, someone could miss it and it’s a little tag that says “geedup co. for geedup co.” As if it’s an inside joke the brand is telling itself. As if it’s an inside joke the brand plays itself. Nothing whispers here. All sounds are intended to be loud.
Why Red Though
Imagining this continues to recur within my thought. It is much easier than expected to understand what kind of colours are chosen for a product. Black hooded sweatshirts merge in to surrounding people. Grey ones are pretty much invisible in a herd! That’s not the case for the color red. When you enter into a room, people noticed, that is it. Add to that it’s fade-resistant, and has a graffiti contribution to the logo, and it’s simply impossible to overlook the fit. But let’s be honest… that’s the exact kind of outfit to match up the Bentley in the red car with the hoodie in that photo? By no means a coincidence. Anyone who considered the entire situation as opposed to the shirt.
Does it really hold up?
I have had my “fair share” of burns in the past, I won’t lie. Went online and purchased a hoodie which appeared great in photos but was almost translucent when delivered. Learned my lesson. This one doesn’t emit that sort of energy. The fleece appears to be very loose. Substantial. Not that that stretches into a sad, saggy, month two version of itself ATV’s held its shape, and that’s good. Drawstrings are thick as well not those thin lanyards that loose ends in just a few weeks. Pocket Kangaroos in front. A row of ribbons around the cuffs, a ribbed hem. This isn’t some crazy build; in fact, it doesn’t have to be that. The piece is already in the process of being carried by the graphic. The hoodie really only has to have a substantial retention for the aforementioned.
Where exactly will Geedup Clothing fit in to all this?
Let’s get back to my point, for a moment. Geedup clothing had everything based on ‘graffiti power’ movement to clothes. No ifs, no buts, “oh, h!” about it, it’s dripping letters, it’s bold color. Not minimalist. Not quiet luxury. Loud as in loud means loud. There are a lot of brands out there that attempt to replicate that energy and it doesn’t seem to get there. Feels forced. It’s not an imposed obligation, but rather a welcome one. It seems more like a real place than a spot that was replicated secondhand like it came originally from some place real and just left the location and assimilated into a hoodie.
This is the disconnect between a true geedup hoodie and some brand that can’t fathom the concept and style behind this hoodie. This, where people go on making mistakes. They tend to surround it with a lot of interesting things around a bold piece as much as they like! Nothing that obscurely wants to cover up the red blacks on the joggers or other straight denim. This is a hooded sweatshirt’s story. Let it be. This will be for the best candidates. Not all people would like to walk about this loud! It’s okay, it doesn’t look like it’s for blending in. If you like bolder graphics, or are somewhat familiar with geed up world, then, this is in rotation. It’s going to be that kind of page on which somebody’s going to come at you and say where’d you get that? This often occurs when graphics are this large.
Geedup hoodie sales can be oversized
Catherine’s Quick Thought on brand names that keep growing like this is: I didn’t anticipate getting this low on this hoodie. But that’s because labels such as geedup are on the rise and bigger names seem to be on the verge of becoming a thing of the past. Authenticity, mostly. The graphics are remarkably real, not like a boardroom conjuring up a trend of the quarter. People know the difference this will often be evident, even if not always apparent. After hearing that from the real roots, to the construction, graphics with meaning folks are hopping back in the car again. Drop after drop.
Bottom Line
This red hoodie doesn’t come across as being subtle, and it’s no secret. This is a colour that stands out loud and clear and a bold graphically patterned fleece that won’t get lost in the crowd. Designed for individuals who wish that the outfit communicates a message prior to their mouth. If you’re still waiting to sign up for geedup clothes, this is one great choice. Greatly pitched, excellent quality, good to throw! However, don’t wait for over a long period of time. Items such as this are becoming viral quickly when word spreads.
